I just had a parental complaint about Harper Lee's use of the word "morphodite" in reference to a snowman in To Kill a Mockingbird.


Oh, how I long for more innocent times when we didn't see the potential for sexual perversion or gross insensitivity in everything.

I wouldn't be surprised if the parent saw his or herself depicted a little too vividly for comfort in that book, and chose to complain about "morphodite" hoping it would seem more legitimate than decrying its criticism of ignorance and bigotry.

You don't happen to live in Maycomb, do you?

On Harper lee's use use of Morphodite in her book, are you sure she is not sayking it has a likeness to someone?, because Morphodite also means that.
